HOLLY THRAILKILL
MSN, APRN, AGPCNP-C

Holly is an Adult-gerontological primary care NP and certified functional medicine practitioner. She is extensively trained in Functional Medicine, Bio-identical hormone therapies, and preventive medicine. She received her master’s degree in nursing from The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, TX. Since 2004 she has worked in many areas of acute care, observing the need for a fundamental change in health care delivery. After experiencing her own health problems, she turned to the principles of functional medicine—studying extensively on human nutrition, stress management, movement, psychology and more. Holly is certified through The Kresser Institute and is pursuing her Masters of Science in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine at the University of Western States in partnership with the Institute of Functional Medicine. With the creation of New Approach Health, Holly takes primary care to a higher level-- integrating the best evidence-based conventional and alternative methods and focusing on prevention. Holly addresses the individual’s psychology and fundamental emotional needs. She aims to see patients in their own environment, involving family members and often multidisciplinary support to achieve optimal lifestyle design. While growing New Approach Health, Holly continues as adjunct professor at San Jacinto College Nursing Programs and maintains availability at UTMB campuses. Holly enjoys spending time with her husband, playing drums and powerlifting. She volunteers with her therapy dog “Gone Girl” at various locations throughout the Houston area.
