This program includes your 60-minute initial consult, 90-minute case review and two 45-minute follow up appointments
The New Approach Functional Medicine Program is the most intensive program offered, designed to create the most comprehensive health profile. In addition to routine labwork, we analyze personalized specialty diagnostics, extensive assessments on health history from birth to the present. This process takes your provider 6-12 hours to create a plan tailored to you. This program is for those struggling for answers and ready to work diligently to change their health.

*A Note About Fees
We use Lab Corp or Quest Labs for routine blood work. You may utilize your insurance for these labs.
We also may order specialized Functional laboratory testing. These specialized Functional medicine labs may not be covered by insurance.
The lab recommendations will depend on the complexity of your case and we will discuss various options with you at the time of your initial visit.
These specialized Functional medicine labs are critical to identify imbalances and to understand your case.
HOW IT WORKS
Patient Instructions
PRIOR TO INITIAL VISIT
You may self-schedule a 10-15 minute phone call with our team to learn more about the functional medicine program and the process of case review.
*Functional medicine patients will be sent extensive questionnaires via the patient portal which need to be completed at least 3 days prior to their initial visit.
YOUR INITIAL VISIT
Your initial visit is will include a comprehensive physical assessment, discuss your detailed health history and goals. You will receive a diagnostic plan and customized nutrition/supplement/lifestyle recommendations to begin while your laboratory testing is being completed.
*Please bring your old medical records to your initial appointment. Additional time may be needed to review extensive medical records.
CASE REVIEW APPOINTMENT
Your case review appointment is generally scheduled 30-45 days after your initial appointment so lab tests and diagnostics can be completed and reviewed. Your provider also spends hours hand-crafting your custom treatment plan. This appointment will cover all of your diagnostics and plan focusing heavily on educating you about the findings, what they mean, and what treatments (supplements, medications, diet, lifestyle interventions) may be needed. The need outside specialists for certain conditions may be needed. New Approach has a curated list of the best specialists in the Houston area (and beyond) who we would trust with our own and our family’s health.
FOLLOW-UP
Many times, chronic illness and health problems are the result of years of maladaptation and insults to the body. Therefore, it may take some time to see final results with the treatment plan. Some patients initially feel worse for the first 2 weeks when the body is forced to detoxify, this is called a Herxheimer reaction. This is why we usually schedule follow-up appointments 6-8 weeks apart. Implementing your treatment plan can be overwhelming, if you need extra help or accountability, we have a maintenance package of 8 30-minute appointments for $1275 that you can self-schedule whenever you wish.
*Depending on the complexity of your case, more follow up time may be needed beyond your 45-minute follow up. Additional fees of $95 per 15 minute increments will be assessed.
